THE BRIEF
Create an engaged poster exploring feminism through the historical imagery of witches and medieval witch trials.
THE CONTEXT
The figure of the witch has long been associated with persecution and the suppression of women. The project used this historical imagery as a starting point to create a contemporary feminist message.
THE IDEA
The phrase « Le bûcher n’a pas éteint le feu » became the starting point. The fire shifts from a symbol of destruction to one of continuity — suggesting that the ideas and voices targeted in the past have not disappeared.
THE MAKING
I created a medieval-inspired illustration of three women dancing around a fire, borrowing visual codes from historical imagery while giving the scene a more playful and contemporary interpretation.
THE RESULT
A symbolic poster using historical references, illustration and typography to communicate a message of resistance and continuity.
