LAYOUT & BRANDING

THE BRIEF
Create a playful and sensory city guide that encourages children to discover their surroundings through their five senses. The booklet needed to be easy to print at home and accessible to families, grandparents and babysitters.
THE CONTEXT
Rather than simply showing children a city, the aim was to encourage them to slow down and experience it differently — observing, listening, touching, smelling and imagining their surroundings.

THE IDEA
I turned the five senses into five illustrated characters, each with their own colour, shape and personality. These characters act as guides throughout the booklet, creating a playful connection between the child and their environment.
THE MAKING
The visual language combines organic shapes, hand-drawn lines and bright colours. The booklet was designed as a three-panel fold, with a sensory city map at the centre and two small activity booklets unfolding on either side.

THE RESULT
A playful exploration tool combining a city guide, activity book and souvenir object — encouraging children to interact with their surroundings rather than simply look at them.
